Arrow Factory

The Arrow Factory is a highly acclaimed non-commercial storefront space hidden among the hutong near the Lama Temple that hosts fascinating contemporary art exhibitions. Founded in April 2008 by Americans Rania Ho and Pauline J. Yao, the Arrow Factory seemed to be swimming against the tide of commercialization at Dashanzi 798. It is independently run and invites both local and foreign curators to create unique shows for its humble 10sqm. One of its most notable exhibitions was the video installation of internationally recognized Wang Gongxin that projected the activities of the bakery next door. Many China art watchers see the Arrow Factory as a portent of things to come.
