This club has a rather unusual location, situated under the Villa Borghese car park, and seeming as if it’s in a shopping centre, but the Romans appear to be oblivious to the fact that this could be incongruous with the stylish shenanigans they promote inside. Art Cafè draws a youngish crowd of male and female label-sluts, which isn’t surprising seeing as the club hosts various self-conscious fashion events. During the warmer months the dance-floor moves out under the trees and stars of Villa Borghese where it is served by a cocktail bar in the garden. You can also dine in decadence at the Art Cafè – to a jazz accompaniment on a Thursday while Friday is a bombastically bling hip-hop night (Roma style). If you’re used to clubbing in London and New York you may find it just a little naïve, but it does draw a trendy crowd of flamboyant young pretty things who just want to have fun. Expect future Miss Italias, boys in distressed jeans and loud shirts and a healthy dose of Roberto Cavalli.
