Hg2 : The Hedonist

Art Market

Forget the tacky T-shirts or obscene beads from the French Quarter shops and head to the Art Market of New Orleans. A better souvenir would be a piece of folk art, a photo of the swamps, or a picture frame made of wood salvaged from a century-old shotgun house. Once a month, the Art Market of New Orleans sprawls across Palmer Park with stalls selling the work of regional artists and craftspeople. As the market has grown, it has become an increasingly major event, with neighbourhood restaurants selling food and local bands entertaining the crowds.
