Assk Kahve is a cute Bosphorus-side café, just north of the glitzy club and bar strip of Kuruçeme. A hangout where the trendy and beautiful go to top up their tans, it’s a magnet for the models, footballers and celeb wannabes who pass their days here, sipping espressos, nibbling the regionally-inspired salads or reading the papers over long, lingering weekend breakfasts. And you certainly can’t fault their choice of venue. Despite being hidden behind a supermarket, Assk (meaning love) is superbly located right on the waterfront and benefits from a sprinkling of shade-giving trees, making it positively idyllic on a sunny day. Though a destination in itself, at night it’s also a good place to pop in for a drink before hitting the nearby clubs.
