Azema Exotic Bistro
This is a rare occasion where the “exotic” word does not refer to a lap-dancing club, rather it reflects the eclectic menu and the spirit of the man behind the kitchen.
Azema Exotic Bistro is the third restaurant that Paul Azema has opened since he quit sociology and devoted himself to the art of cooking. However, he retained his love for diverse cultures and with, grand creativity, now blends both passions in delightful dishes.
Paul’s creations at Azema combine elements of traditional créole cuisine (born in French colonies, specially from Isla de la Reunion where Paul´s father is native) with Caribbean flavors, Vietnamese spices and other secret ingredients he collected on his journeys around the globe.
Start with some finger food, try some Vietnamese nems or the promising paté créole and then choose between some pasta with curry, coconuts and bananas, shrimps with ginger and chili or a classic bouf bourguigon.
Azema Exotic Bistro is housed in a cosy house in the heart of Palermo Hollywood. The décor is as eclectic as its owner, with each detail telling an adventurous story. Don’t be surprised if you are welcomed by Paul himself at the door, he might then pop by your table to guide you through the menu and to share some of his amazing anecdotes.
