The latest project of the well-established Atlas address Kasbah Du Toubkal, Azzaden Trekking Lodge was built a year or so ago to cater for the growing number of trekkers requesting a good country hotel near Marrakech but still deep into the mountains. Set in the dramatic Azzaden valley in the Toubkal Massif, this remote lodge has been constructed in a very similar way to the Kasbah. Built in a traditional style from local, eco-friendly materials, the lodge boasts Berber features such as wooden ceilings and carved doors, and a plethora of creature comforts: solar-powered underfloor heating, a wonderful terrace, wood-burning stove and en-suite bathrooms in all three rooms. Needless to say the place affords spectacular views across the valley. It takes a half or full day to get here from the Kasbah du Toubkal, depending on your route and mode of travel (foot, bicycle, donkey, horse, car) but once here you can use it as a stopover point, or as a base to undertake shorter walks in the surrounding area.
