Hg2 : The Hedonist

Baalei Hamelaha

The worldwide resurgence of t-shirt culture has taken a turn towards a veritable renaissance in Tel Aviv. The city’s already informally minded communal psyche revelled in the introduction of alternative printing styles, fabric use and cuts. Diversification let the t-shirt out of the sartorial ghetto, as embodied by the ever-popular t-markets, where dozens of local designers display and sell their unique designs to thousands of visitors. The launch of Baalei Ha’melahah is the natural response to the rise in popularity of printing and design.

A synthesis of gallery and studio, Baalei Hamelaha presents itself as a nexus for artists and designers of various mediums, offering studio space for private projects, a gallery for exhibitions and hand-on classroom settings for seminars and courses. Education opportunities range from self-publishing to silk-screen printing and even doll-making. The experiential classes are all led by talented professionals, generating a gratifying experience not to be missed by the creative-minded.
