Bab Hotel Bar
Hotel bars can be stuffy, churlish affairs, more useful for a pragmatic late night drink or a quiet tete-a-tete than any real socializing. The Bab’s bar is different – mostly because the hotel it’s housed in is different. Where most bars are connected to formal five star establishments, Bab’s drinking space is in keeping with the rest of the venue – funky, lively, casual. It’s an airy, open-plan space with designer furnishings galore to get comfortable on (check out the outsized desk lamps – there’s humour too) and young trendy staff in crisp black and white uniforms to bring you your drinks. A DJ plays at weekends and sometimes through the week, but not so loud you can’t hear anything. Sometimes it’s a little too quiet – it’s a hotel bar after all – but even then it can be an attractive place to relax and enjoy an intimate chat. In summer, check out the Sky Bar on the top floor, and we’d also recommend you try the restaurant (see page XX) if food is on the agenda.
