Hg2 : The Hedonist

Bab Restaurant

Though you can technically dine on the patio, at the bar, in the library or around the lounge, the funky Bab hotel does have a proper restaurant. It’s the space out back in the garden, and has the choice of intimate banquets or more formal tables between the bar and the sexy pool. The French chef here Hadrien Villedieu studied under everyone from Robuchon to Passard in Paris before opening this sleek contemporary bistro inside the Bab hotel. He offers a menu that suits the flamboyance of the hotel, mixing European, Moroccan and Asian. His fresh seafood dishes are especially good. Sitting out near the long bright pool in the whites stones is film set dreamy, and you can take a banquet further out to dine more casually. The bougeanvillia, mirrors and lamps create a hip and seductive ambience. The black and white theme of the hotel is continued with the marble tables, huge white vases and staff in crisp white and black uniforms. Menu is all sexy salads, varied assiette de partage, pasta dishes, wok fried duck, mini burgers and a good range of desserts and a splendid wine list (even a 2001 Château Pétrus – it’s not cheap). Afterwads you can take a drink at the bar, which has a DJ at weekends.
