Bar Ache Cohiba
A new addition to the Bairro Alto bar scene, this popular hang-out attracts jaded locals tired of the same old spots. Ache Cohiba is (you guessed it!) a Cuban-themed bar with potent cocktails
But it’s the clientele who provide the most interesting decoration: film producers mingle with seasoned crusties and men in suits during the course of an evening. It’s the true epitome of Lisbon’s eclectic social scene. Accordingly, the possibilities for an evening out are endless. Expect to find yourself embroiled in conversation about art-house movies one minute and political corruption the next.
The atmosphere is deceptively electric given the mediocre surroundings and the bar’s lack of distinctive character. Spacious enough for a quiet drink, but best enjoyed when packed to the rafters.
