Barfussbar (in the Frauenbadi)
On warm summer evenings this charming 19th
century wooden badi floating in the
Limmat river transforms into a ‘barefoot’ bar. The barefoot ethos demands that
shoes must be relinquished on entry, so we recommend leaving the Blahniks
behind. By day, the Frauenbadi is, as the name suggests, a women only affair,
but by night it’s open to all.
Every Wednesday they host cultural events, from jazz
quartets to readings and every Sunday is the La Balera dance evening, which
features a rotating line up of groove and funk DJ acts.
The scene is laid-back,
unpretentious fun: kick off your shoes, kick back and relax over a drink or
many. Barfussbar is closed in bad weather and they quite often host private
events, so check the website in advance.
