Beard to Tail
London is continuing to rebel against the days of rich bankers and fat bonuses taking the term fuss-free dining to a whole new level. Case-in-point is Beard to Tail, a meat-focused dining spot from the same team behind the favourite cocktail bar Callooh Callay. Their new Shoreditch site is stamped with the same brand of laid-back kitch, with old fashions and other whisky
cocktails served in reused jam jars and wooden communal tables. From the carnivorous menu working with less popular animal cuts, ensuring nothing is wasted (we are in the days of austerity, after all) dining here you half expect to see a bearded lumberjack walking through with an axe over his shoulder. Don’t be surprised if one does, it’s probably ex-Hix chef Dan Trippleton back from collecting they day’s choice cuts. Beard to Tail offers all day dining – good for wandering in whenever you fancy a chunk of bone marrow, snack of pork crackling or their succulent BBQ ribs. To the front, a deli bar serves up thick sandwiches all day.
