Bo Drake
Occupying a former club on Soho’s Greek Street, Bo Drake is the brainchild of chef and restaurateur Jan Lee, in collaboration with Californian street food impresario Heath McDonald. Heralding the arrival of East Asian BBQ meets Mexican street food in London, hungry diners queue up here for dishes like smoked duck bao with hoisin and mustard sauce, Korean lamb cutlets with nashi pear, and quesadillas laced with eye-wateringly powerful Kimchi.
There are a few small tables in the back of the restaurant, but to get into the spirit of the communal dining ethos, grab a stool and sit up at the large shared table in the front, where you’ll be surrounded by a flurry of waiters buzzing around baring small plates and Soju slushies. Incidentally, the staff at Bo Drake are among the friendliest and most efficient you’re likely to find in London.
