Bottega del Vino
It’s a kid-in-a-candy-store moment for the gourmand – shelves at this store, one of the most deliciously tempting cafés in Sydney incidentally, are tightly packed with boutique olive oils, loaves of Sonoma artisanal bread and organic chocolate. The takeaway food, like homemade lasagne, plates of antipasti or a vegetarian pasta salad, has served many a local – picking up that night’s dinner or something to take to a picnic lunch. As for vino, there are some fabulous choices, and solo imbibers need not fear – there’s a handy range of 40 half-bottles from France, Italy, Australia and New Zealand. Grab one of those and a Ben and Jerry’s ice-cream, and you’ll be welcome at any picnic.
