With the tagline, ‘wild luxury, extreme opulence’, from the minute you step into Boudoir it’s completely obvious what sort of joint this is. And, if you were in any doubt, the fact the music cuts out when the big spenders order their obelisk-sized jeroboams will set your mind at rest. Red velvet, shining gilt and more drapes than, erm, a tart’s boudoir, it’s opulence-by-numbers, but still manages to pack in the crowds to its numerous theme rooms every night. It’s also a haven for the poor-but-beautiful – Tuesdays and Thursdays see it jam-packed with perky girls, lured by the free champagne or cocktails. The music is never particularly challenging, but happy house, r’n’b and pop tunes are all sprinkled into the mix, and are enough to get the largely Lebanese and French crowd going.
