Brasserie Bread Café
The artisan bread from this store is sold to hundreds of the restaurants and cafés in Sydney, including many of the first-rate ones, and you can see for yourself whatrn all the fuss is about as you munch on your croque monsieur because rnthere’s a glass-viewing gallery into the kitchen. Set next door to the bakery, the café and retail shop looks and smells inviting, with warehouse-style vaulted ceilings and tall pine shelves packed with artisan breads like organic sourdough, heavy rye and sour cherry loaf. It’s a great little café with excellent coffee, and the devilishly-tasty sourdough pancakes, topped with stewed berry compote and honeycomb cream, are worth the trip alone. If you want to learn the tricks of the trade, it runs popular baking classes, too.
