Brasserie Petanque
We would be grateful if you would not confuse us with a bistro, say Brasserie Petanque. For unlike brasseries – apparently – bistros are not large, noisy, casual or affordable; nor do they have good country wines, a simple traditional menu, or plenty of beers from all around the world.
rn
rnThat’s all very well, but proprietor Pascal Meyer’s mission statement is a little off. In fact, this quaintly lit French bistro-cum-brasserie is far more stylish than he makes it out to be, which is precisely the reason why this San Telmo establishment regularly brims with Buenos Aires’ foodies.
rn
rnA five-minute walk from San Telmo’s Plaza Dorrego, Pentanque sits on the corner of two typically tired-looking streets. The interior, however, apart from the waiters, is tout French
