Bristol Bar
Madrid, like most other cities in the world, has its fair share of Irish pubs, which are great for two things: watching sports events and meeting fellow visitors to a city. If, however, their often grimy atmosphere is a turn off for you, then head to Bristol Bar instead, a British-themed establishment where you’re bound to run into more than a few expats as well as a crowd of smart Spaniards.
A large picture of Queen Victoria keeps an eye on the proceedings in the front area of the bar, where you can order a G&T made with whichever brand of gin you fancy – and there are plenty on offer. In the back there’s a restaurant serving British and American dishes, including a decent Sunday brunch.
