Burrito Boyz
Credited with starting Toronto’s burrito fever, this cheap and cheerful proudly hangs its press cutting titles of ‘best’, ‘choice’ and ‘ultimate’ on the wall. Its bulging burritos come in three weights: 1lb, 1¼lbs and 1½lbs.
The ingredients jostling for position inside include chicken or steak with rice, refried beans, guacamole, jalapenos, peppers, onions, grated cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. The succulent halibut option is an anomaly in the burrito universe, and is a surprisingly popular contender.
Though this is bargain-basement (and it literally is in a basement), everything here is freshly-made. There are quesadillas on offer and a bunch of Mexican juice drinks, but the lunchtime lineup is for its famed burritos. We suggest you add a dash of its signature XXX hot sauce or (the more pleasantly palatable) creamy chili lime.
