In the brand spanking new St Giles piazza (a stone’s throw from Covent Garden, Oxford Street and Holborn), sits the oh-so-fresh, glass-encased Cabana. If you’ve never tried Brasilian cuisine before, this Latino dream should be your first port of call.
It must be something they put in their (highly potent) caipirinhas, but the restaurant is vibrant and constantly buzzing, an ambience only added to by the enthusiasm of their staff – you don’t just taste Brazilian food here – you get a carnival of colour and culture, too. Order delicate individual dishes, or share a few meat skewers (this is a proper joint where the server divvies up a sizzling skewer at the table) with sides and sauces. And oh my goodness, those sauces are good. Washed down with a couple more caipirinhas and you’re ready to stumble home, into bed, and dream about the perfection of what you just ate. An additional Cabana location at Westfield Stratford City would make for a good place to take a load off after serious retail therapy.
