Hg2 : The Hedonist

Café Amarti

Café Amarti is a more relaxed option for eating in Bogota. The heavy wooden door of the restaurant opens onto a warm scene of thick wooden beams and blazing pizza oven fires. The restaurant is surprisingly large, but somehow manages to feel cosy with separate rooms that create a more personal atmosphere. Café Amarti’s huge menu is well-designed, and the restaurant is perfect for a casual dinner, as the scores of local families and couples who dine here will attest. The pizzas are wonderful, though there are plenty of more sophisticated options, such as the carpaccios and risottos, which are equally well-prepared. If you’re more in the mood for comfort food, then the range of fondues and the toast with nutella and banana are about as decadent as it gets. Café Amarti is dotted with candles, and the brick pizza ovens create a rustic feel, which is well complemented by the animated atmosphere. The Usaquen favourite is a very relaxed dining option, and diners are sure to leave feeling fully-satisfied.
