Café Copy
Located on the ground floor of the Today Art Museum, the Café Copy was bound to become an anti-establishment haven. It’s taken a little while, but the surrounding Pingod art district has started to take off with graphic designers, artists and galleries beginning to fill the massive amount of studio space. Designed by co-owner and architect Wang Hui, the smooth, straight lines of the chrome bar are reminiscent of Ron Arad while the entirely silver-colored interior is pure SciFi. On the menu is a selection of Western café classics as well as a few with Oriental flourishes. There is also a good array of hot and iced coffees that are surprisingly strong. The local Beijing iced lemon tea is excellent. Pull up a huge metallic armchair and browse the various art books and journals on your way to or from the museum.
