Café la Boheme

Black-and-white French posters are the only decoration Café la Boheme, aside from an old-fashioned telephone towards the back which does little in the way of furnishing this fun little example of Bogotá cafés. Indeed, the whole café is retro – but not in a trying way – with wooden seats and patrons who come with their newspapers and linger for hours. A few rickety steps lead upstairs to four computer cubicles, often filled with backpackers trying to plan last-minute routes. Downstairs the menu is small, though the coffee is excellent and every coffee-compatible liquor is available to spice up traditional cappuccinos. Simple sandwiches are made fresh and brownies are available for dessert, but what Café la Boheme lacks in choice it makes up for in homey, rustic atmosphere.
