Cantiere dei Sensi

Exemplary of Isola’s gentrification is Cantiere dei Sensi (or ‘site of the senses’) – a café-cum-architect’s practice opened in winter 2004, now just one very good example of Milan’s restaurants.rnrnIt’s ideal if you were thinking of employing this firm to redesign your house, since it offers a taster of just what you’d get – clean and contemporary urban interiors. The showroom doubles up as a highly competent restaurant, dinner is served among a functional display of product design: chairs by Philip Starck, Zanotta, Kartell etc., cutlery by Jasper Morrison, and as a tribute to the owner’s late tutor and eminent architect, Achille Castiglione’s lighting, stools and crockery. rnrnEverything is current season and everything can be bought – from the Bisazza mosaic bathrooms to the showers in the shop windows, or even a new-look house.
