Hg2 : The Hedonist

Capital Museum

After a total face-lift in 2006, the Capital Museum is now impossible to miss due to the huge bronze cylinder embedded in its façade. The 60,000sqm of exhibition space is home to an almost overwhelming array of Buddha statues, jade, bronze, calligraphy and Chinese painting. For a glimpse into life in Old Beijing, the Capital Museum has on display some of its 200,000 relics and archival pictures on the top floor. Here you will find Peking Opera artifacts as well as bronze statues of rickshaws. There is also a cinema with short videos on the exhibitions running throughout the day. Admission is free but you need to call 3 days in advance to make your booking and you can reserve up to 5 tickets per day.
