Cardozo Café
Cardozo Café is located in the Art Deco Cardozo Hotel at the tranquil northern end of Ocean Drive. Owned by Gloria Estefan, it was built in 1939 by Henry Hohauser and his team who were basically responsible for the area.
rn
rnThe Café is a popular spot for breakfast or lunch, as the food here is considerably better than many of its imitators on the stretch – if you are going to spend around $12 for a vegetarian crêpe, you might as well do it at the Cardozo.
rn
rnGuests can either sit in the hotel’s lobby area or outside, on one of the wicker chairs or in the shade of the umbrellas that hug the sidewalk.
rn
rnThe atmosphere is relaxed until the place becomes busy at lunchtime, so come mid-morning, when a cool breeze blows down Ocean Drive and softens the clout of the Miami heat.
