The cavernous interiors host large-scale events and theatre performances, proving that there are always things to do in Sydney – anything from Shakespeare to the TEDxSydney Forum, contemporary art and design markets Finders Keepers, hip-hop concerts and even unique charity events like Rethreads, a clothing swap festival organised by Oxfam. It also provides gallery space for the arts sector with numerous rotating exhibitions, and has a huge undercover outdoor space which hosts the Eveleigh Farmer’s Market each Saturday, featuring 70 authentic producer stallholders, who bring seasonal fresh produce from all over NSW, from biodynamic and organic foods, artisan cheese, or moreish Chinese dumpling stands (www.eveleighmarket.com.au). It’s a mammoth space and there’s always something to see or do – best to check the website for current exhibition and performance details.
