Experience Barcelona’s cultural beauty with shopping on the Passeig de Gracia in the centre of the city. While browsing through Burberry, Chanel or Yves Saint Laurent, keep an eye out for two amazing Gaudi apartment buildings; Casa Batllo and La Pedrera. The former is especially magnificent, with balconies designed to look like skull particles and supporting pillars reminiscent of human bone, yet the overall effect is far less gruesome than it sounds. Every inch of the buildings façade is covered in mosaic made of colours found only in natural coral. While you can pay to visit inside the building, the outside is the spectacular part and the entrance fee unnecessary if you’re pushed for time or simply passing while shopping.
