Hg2 : The Hedonist

Casper & Gambini

One of the first bistro/cafés in Beirut to open with firm branding, Casper & Gambini’s has built its reputation on soft surroundings and gourmet sandwiches, salads, desserts and coffees. A good vibe exudes from a young crowd keen to lounge in Casper & Gambini’s low-slung leather chairs. rn

Casper’s two levels are decorated in dark brown mahogany with windows on two sides. From here you can survey the pedestrianized downtown café hubbub of Maarad Street, and the Roman ruins of the Cardo Maximus from a terrace. With plenty of coffee-table books on the bookshelves, non- invasive music and tasty food, Casper’s lures in locals and chic Arab tourists from the Gulf dressed to impress. It is a haven from the louder and more commercial ventures on the rest of Maarad Street.
