Cat and Fiddle
If the expansive, Old Hollywood-style Spanish-retro courtyard and gurgling center fountain aren’t enough of an eyeful, the people-watching at this enduring British pub is beyond the pale. Brought to its current historic Hollywood locale (the ‘Casablanca Room’ was the site of a scene in the Bogie-Bergman classic) in 1985 by the late British Invasion session musician Kim Gardner in desperation for a place to find a good pint, Cat & Fiddle imported all the usual cliched British amenities – Guinness, fish and chips, dart boards, et al – and serves it up to an artsy, industry-heavy crowd of musicians, starlets, and screenwriters looking for a pubby but hip alternative to the usual Sunset Strip frivolity.
