Centro Cultural de Belem
Lisbon’s largest cultural centre and boasting the largest auditorium, the Centro Cultural de Belem easily has the city’s best facilities. The grey block-like limestone structure, designed by Vittorio Gregotti and Manuel Salgado, caused no end of controversy when it opened in 1993.
rnNow the Centro Cultural de Belem plays host to some of the best music, theatre and dance events from both foreign and domestic companies. Several vast exhibition spaces also feature a varied programme of art exhibitions. A cafeteria and open-air concourse are great places to relax.
