Hidden away on a narrow street beside the German Church, Chaikhana is an oasis in the Old Town. This small Colonial-style tea house is the only place in Gamla Stan where you can find great tea. And thanks to its location, removed from the main tourist streets, it’s rarely too crowded.
rnHere you’ll find more than 200 varieties of loose-leaf tea for sale – not dreadful fruit-scented ones, but pure and blended varieties from China, India, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Russia and other places were chamomile is frowned upon. Each week, 10 different teas are placed on the menu and can be ordered and enjoyed in-house. We’d recommend that you also treat yourself to some of the wonderfully fluffy English scones, served with jam and cream, or one of the excellent French pastries.
