Chamois
The brick walls of Chamois house a friendly group of 20-year-old students, many of whom consider this to be one of their favourite bars in Bogotá and come at least once a week. Old-fashioned Hollywood photos are the only decoration, and an outside fireplace warms the terrace. But the most distinctive feature of Chamois is the drinks menu, and one cocktail in particular stands out; the ‘guaya’ is made of seven different liquors and the multi-coloured concoction is served in a milk bottle. Be warned: it’s extremely strong! The guaya is so potent, in fact, that if you manage to drink three and walk out of the bar Chamois will pick up your bill. How’s that for incentive? If you’re not such a heavy drinker then there are still plenty of whiskies to choose from, and a great pisco sour. In short, Chamois embodies the Colombian sense of fun, and is a favourite amongst locals and visitors alike (though let’s just hope you can remember it the next morning).
