Hg2 : The Hedonist

One of the places to eat in Milan that you would be sorry to miss, Chatulle is rather heaven-like with its all-cream interior of arches, diaphanous floor-length curtains, padded leather seating, bleached oak tables, limestone floor tiles and a dazzlingly sparkly crystal chandelier that stretches the length of the bar. rnrnIf you’re having an ugly day, you might also feel you’ve found heaven since Chatulle artfully flatters one’s features with indirect lighting, soft candlelight and warm reflective tones. And with a plentiful supply of gratuitous mirrors, it gently indulges the Milanese vanities. rnrnThe menu – of traditional Italian and Milanese dishes with meat-heavy main courses – seems suspiciously Atkins-orientated, but portions are generous and good value, and service is efficient and obliging; the bar offers aperitivo and an opportunity for late post-dinner drinking. It’s a fashionable place to fill up at, in this out-of-the-way street that’s filling up with nightlife (including its sister club Gattopardo; see Party).
