Opened in 1943, this vast, dramatic performance space plays host to the biggest names in dance – everything from the Kirov Ballet and American Ballet Theatre to the Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre and the Paul Taylor Dance Company. It’s also the home of the Manhattan Theatre Club, and puts on a series called “Encores,” restagings of lesser known musicals.
