City Hotel Tallinn by Uniquestay

Open since 2003, the Uniquestay hotel has come to the Tallinn market with an ambitious vision – to provide four-star quality at three-star prices, a target it achieves by offering friendly service and atmosphere with slick, clean design. From the same school of branding as easyJet (good standardized quality, lower-case logos, bright colours), it has a distinctly youthful, dot-com feel.
rnEach room in this 17-room hotel is alike and interchangeable – and priced on a flat fee for single or double – although bathroom tiles come in different colours from room to room. The most striking thing about the hotel, other than the sparse, Nordic décor and the IKEA atmosphere, is the space-age, floor-lit corridors, which add some real atmosphere.
rnPerhaps the biggest selling-point for most young travellers is the fact that each room has its own computer terminal with free unlimited internet access – a feature we found in only one other Tallinn hotel. The British-owned Uniquestay is located right next to the Meriton Grand Hotel, and since 2004 is based in two buildings across the road from each other, one a former sauna, the other a German nobleman’s residence. Five minutes from the Old Town.
