Hg2 : The Hedonist

Cok Cok

Çok Çok sees itself as ‘a bridge between cultures’, but rather than hosting the European fusion cuisine that such a description would normally suggest, this Thai restaurant is all about the meeting of South East Asian and South West Asian food, in terms of both culture and design. The interior is designed to blend the traditional and contemporary; every table offers a gentle intimacy and no detail has been overlooked from the handcrafted paper lanterns to the opulent cushioned seating areas upstairs. The only downside to Çok Çok’s atmosphere are the views out arguably the ugliest building in Istanbul. However, when one takes into account the food – which comprises Thai dishes made with ingredients almost impossible to find in Istanbul – all in all there is very little to fault in this restaurant’s refreshingly refined cuisine.
