The Commune by the Great Wall Kempinski is a stunning collection of contemporary architecture designed by 12 Asian architects hand-picked by property developer and SOHO China CEO, Zhang Xin. It was awarded a special prize at the 2002 Venice Biennale and named A New Architectural Wonder of China” by Business Week in 2005. The Cantilever House by Antonio Ochoa and the Bamboo Wall by Kengo Kuma have become must-sees for design-lovers visiting Beijing. Kempinski took over management in 2006 with its renowned panache and oversaw the construction of 31 new villas and the Kid’s Club
