Hg2 : The Hedonist

Crazy Horse

In spite of the peculiar name, which suggests a performance rather more comic than sensual, Crazy Horse Paris is in fact a world famous cabaret (or erotic revue) with its home in Paris but outlets around the world. First established by the burlesque visionary Alain Bernardin in 1951, it was intended as an artistic appreciation of the female form; elaborate, choreographed routines in costumes of glitter and feather were interspersed with musical interludes and comedy sketches: an eclectic variety of entertainment that does perhaps explain the name. Today, the focus is exclusively cabaret – and, if expensive (starting at around €85 per person for Champagne and cabaret), the Crazy Horse Paris shows are elegant, glamorous, and certainly sensual. You are also paying for the privilege of spending an evening within the hallowed walls of burlesque stardom, where many notable dancers, choreographers, and celebrity guests have performed, including Dita von Teese, Pamela Anderson, and Carmen Electra.
