Hg2 : The Hedonist

Like the art, Dada could be described as a random collation from everyday life, but here it’s people rather than things: businessmen winding down, tourists who have lost their way and loafers who pretend they have been working all day.

With Pop Art covering the walls – mostly enormous Lichtensteins – and a glitterball hanging from the ceiling, regulars choose Dada because it’s a world away from the breakneck speed of life in the Micro Centro. The barmen, serious professionals, take pride in massaging away the knots of the stressed porteño with a glass full of gin graced with the merest splash of tonic.

Dada is a good option for an afternoon/early evening drink, but also consider the Downtown double on a Tuesday night: head to Dada at around 10pm before rolling on to grittier La Cigale. Dada is the queen in the Downtown beehive and superior to the Kilkenny and Downtown Mattias, about which you will have been misinformed.
