Dar Moha
Dar Moha is named after its owner Mohammed, an extrovert Moroccan chef who lived and worked in Switzerland for 14 years before returning and opening one of the finest restaurants in Marrakech. The venue itself used to be a royal riad (the palace is just across the road) before Moha transformed it into an ultra-romantic establishment that is considered by many to be the premier dining spot in Marrakech. It’s difficult to argue. A splendid petal-covered courtyard leads into a spacious room full of large white tables, decorated in refined Moroccan style, with an upstairs that’s designed for either group or intimate dining. The best spot at Dar Moha, however, is out the back, especially in the evenings, where tables surround a luminescent pool and beautifully romantic setting. The cuisine here – traditional Moroccan with a Moha twist – is almost flawless. Great care has been taken to ensure the food is devoid of unnecessary fat and sugar but still tastes delicious. Set menus begin at 220 dh (per person) at lunch and go up to 530 dh in the evenings.
