Deli Delux is owned by three partners, two of them interior architects and designers, which makes Deli Delux the most glamorous of Lisbon’s cafes/delis. It is the perfect place to sample and purchase Portuguese and worldwide delicacies in surroundings akin to a Wallpaper magazine’s fashion shoot. Its fabulous outdoor design café, literally sitting on the edge of Lisbon`s breathtaking river Tagus, is often packed with beautiful people enjoying the gourmet salads and decadent cakes, Mediterranean inspired sandwiches, hearty brunches or simply delving into a cheese and ham platter with a selection of prize winning wines. The menu, devised by chef Leonor Manita, who counts London`s Nobu as one of her previous workplaces, changes seasonally.
After tantalising your tastebuds, stroll around the elegant corridors for a never ending selection of gourmet offerings from the deli and grocery. These range from award winning olive oils, superb chocolates from Neuhaus to Valrhona, pasta dressings and caviar, to the mouthwatering Parma ham, crab carpaccio, vintage Parmesan and Tallegio or Portugal’s pride and joy, the extra silky Serra cheese. Drop by in the late afternoon during the week for the Deli’s already much celebrated wine tastings.
