Dig Inn Seasonal Market
At the Pump, the message is clear and the philosophy is simple: Clean, healthy food yields a clean, healthy body. Founded in the mid-90s by Steve and Elena Kapelonis – who were already practicing what they’d come to preach – the Pump opened its doors and was hailed as a ‘physical fitness’ restaurant. That means no frying, lean cuts of meat, plenty of vegetarian options, the exclusive use of egg whites, and a reliance on whole wheat breads and brown rice. Indulgent types might be making a face right now, but these good folks don’t skimp on taste. We love the steak burgers, mountainous salads, a hearty breakfast sandwich, and a number of bread-free dishes, all of which kick our bodies into high gear, as opposed to the gross, weighed down feeling following donuts or chicken nuggets or Whoppers. There are six outposts in total, so check out the website or keep your eyes peeled.
