The Dirty Burger is the latest venture from the Soho House Group that is located ’round the back’ of their Chicken Shop on Highgate Street in Kentish Town. You’re not in Soho House anymore – far from the decadence and high-ceilings of one of their houses, the Dirty Burger strips itself bare. It is little more than a shanty-chic corrugated iron box with one thing on the menu: the cheeseburger. Accompany it with a choice of crinkle cut or red onion fries and water it down with local Camden ale but be prepared to get a little bit messy! Despite the somewhat daunting queues, it doesn’t take long to get served and get a little brown paper bag of dirty burger. For the true burger lovers, the meat arrives slightly pink and full of flavour but the chefs are happy to take individual requests. The view of the parking lot leaves something to be desired, but it is a perfect place to relax with friends or nurse a sore head from a boozy night on the town. Be sure to leave table manners at the door as, in this instance, it’s good to get a little dirty once in a while.
