Hg2 : The Hedonist

Dizengoff Center Food Fair

Israeli cuisine is a mish mash of dissonant traditions, ethnic palettes, and the blend between them. Locals will stir you to the far-flung recesses of the white city in search of the best in a seemingly endless array of ‘typical’ dishes. For those who wish to avoid the time investment needed to search out these culinary havens, venture no further than the Dizengoff center mall on any Thursday or Friday for the weekly Food fair, a chain of food stalls that should cover your culinary check-list in one sitting.

Enter the labyrinthine complex through the Northern building in order to avoid getting lost amidst the chaotic maze of hallways. You will discover stalls featuring the cuisine of nearly every culture represented in Israel, as well as the few that have yet to make it over. Don’t pass up a chance to try the Druze pita with labneh, a strained yogurt made of goat’s milk that is often found swimming in extra virgin olive oil.
