Domus Balthasar Prague
Hidden Places has given life to two boutique hotels in Prague, Domus Balthasar Prague is the younger sibling of the duo, and adopts a more stylish, design-led stance than its bigger brother, Domus Henrici. Situated in a baroque building whose foundations date back to the 14th century, it has eight rooms that nevertheless reflect a modern, fresh approach to design: simple white walls and linen contrast with dark wooden furniture and simple pine floors; each room is also equipped with state-of-the-art televisions, DVD players and kitchenettes.
While there are no public spaces or lounges in the hotel, a café downstairs does serve tasty breakfasts, and since you’re situated just a few steps from Charles Bridge, the location is unbeatable.
The corner deluxe doubles offer interesting views towards the bridge and its flanking tower, and guests in all rooms get a ‘personal’ phone number that allows people to call them without going through reception. Domus Balthasar Prague is a good choice for those seeking an intimate experience without the fuss of larger hotels.
