Located on the sixth floor of a building in the centre of Wenceslas Square, Duplex is one of the club-bars and restaurants in Prague which offers fantastic views of Prague and its majestic Castle lit up at night from the rooftop. The entranceway off the street is fairly anonymous, but a lift swiftly transports you up to a funkier lobby.
The club itself looks like a Playboy video, with industrial walkways and cages hanging over the dance-floor. Seats in the booths around the side face towards huge windows, offering views over the hustle-bustle of the square below. Duplex attracts a strange mix of players: the high entrance fee and inflated drinks prices are prohibitive to many locals, so business people and tourists take their place.
The regular DJs play a mix of chart and house music, while international DJs drop in from time to time to raise the tempo. Staff add to the eye candy, which is just as well, since they aren’t there for their speed or friendliness.
