With over twenty years of experience and scores of artists who have exhibited in its spaces, Dvir Gallery has become a local authority in contemporary art, an institution that draws a steady following and press coverage for its openings and special events.
The gallery’s original space, on quaint Nachum Street, focuses on representational art, with paint and sculpture as focal mediums. Reaping the rewards of a golden generation in Israeli contemporary art, the gallery has since opened tow additional spaces. The first, in Nitzana Street, inhabits a side street of the alternative-minded Florentin neighborhood. The space is smaller and thus mostly dedicated to solo exhibitions.
Dvir’s third gallery inhabits the 5000-square-metre Hangar Two in the old Jaffa port, the serendipitous product of area’s budding rejuvenation. In addition to supporting local artists, the Dvir gallery also provides a venue for international talent to showcase their respective works.
