Bondi needs no introduction – it’s one of the most famous beaches in Sydney, if not the most famous. It’s perennially abuzz with stylish beachgoers and surfers paddling out to the waves. There’s also scores of cafés, bars, restaurants, boutiques and weekly markets – it’s little wonder locals who live here refuse to move elsewhere. It’s an easy walk along the coastline to Tamarama (aka Glamourama), an equally stylish, though much smaller beach. The walk continues to Bronte and Coogee, both relaxed beaches with parks to the rear for picnickers, beachside cafés and pubs. Further south, Maroubra is widely regarded as the best surf beach in the eastern suburbs.
