Hg2 : The Hedonist

Eathouse Diner

The turquoise and scarlet painted entrance and the gigantic mural of a monster bird is well-suited to Eathouse, one of the warm yet on-the-pulse diners in Sydney. Run by three young friends – two chefs and a stylist – there’s lots to like about it, like big windows and miscellaneous stuff like bull horns, retro lampshades and naughty newspaper clippings plastered over the bathroom walls, as well as super attentive service. The open kitchen pumps out a steady stream of bistro-style cuisine; think duck-liver pate, pork-laden waldorf salad, poached chicken sandwich and a massive banana to take you back to your childhood. It’s nearly always busy with a young, hipster crowd, and it’s an easygoing place to kick back for an unhurried evening feed.
